  • BC ranked tied for No. 1 return on investment among public colleges in Washington.

  • BC recognized by the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR) for communication excellence.
  • BC awarded National Science Foundation Improving Undergraduates STEM Education Grant supporting underrepresented students pursuing degrees in STEM fields.
  • BC awarded Department of Education Title III Award – providing support to improve educational outcomes for historically excluded student populations.
  • BC awarded Department of Justice Office of Violence against Women Grant supporting efforts to reduce sexual assault, domestic violence, 约会暴力, and stalking on campus.
  • BC awarded TRIO student Support Services Grant providing support services and resources to low-income, first-generation college students and students with disabilities to help student success, retention and completion.

  • BC and KBCS were recognized by the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism with the Katherine Schneider Journalism Award for excellence in reporting.
  • BC recognized as a “champion of sustainability” by McKinistry.
  • 艾比琳, student programs coordinator, 桑娅多赛特, associate professor of chemistry and environmental science, and William Tribble, construction project manager were recognized by McKinistry for their individual contributions to sustainability.
  • Diane Mauldin, senior associate professor in Life Sciences, was awarded the AACC Dale P. Parnell 教师 Distinction Recognition by the American Association of 社区 Colleges (AACC).


  • BC receives approval to offer Bachelor of Science degree in Digital Marketing. It becomes BC’s 12th bachelor’s degree.
  • Jono沃恩, assistant professor of drawing and painting, was awarded the Betty Bowen Award for original, 异常, and compelling work.
